Apple Strudel Bread
  • Topping:
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Bread:
  • 1-1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ⅓ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped and peeled apples
  • ½ cup chopped pecans
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly spray a Milkhouse Creamery loaf crock with non stick cooking spray.
  2. Place the topping ingredients in a small bowl and mix with a fork until crumbly. Set aside.
  3. In a bowl, combine the flour, cinnamon, baking powder, soda and salt. Set aside.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, beat together the oil, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Add the dry ingredients and mix well. Fold in the apples and pecans. Place in prepared pan. Sprinkle top evenly with reserved topping. Bake for 50-55 minutes or until skewer inserted in middle comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes on rack before removing from pan.
